THE DAUGHTERS OF THE ARERICAN REVOLUTION
AMERICAN LEGION POST #103
American Legion Post #103 is the locally based American Legion Organization. Often folks are under the misconception we are a part of VFW. We are two separate organization both comprised of Military Veterans with similarities in Charter and Structure. The primary difference is the individual eligibility requirement based upon time periods of active military service. Meetings are every 3rd Saturday at 10:00 A.M.
MEADVIEW AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Daughters of he American Revolution and they meet the 2nd Saturday every month in the Kingman Regional Medical Center conference room near the cafeteria at 10:30 A.M. September through May. For more information call Lucille at 564-2544.
FRIENDS OF THE MEADVIEW LIBRARY
Friends of the Meadview Library is an organization that sponsors fund raising events for the benefit of the Meadview Library. Annual dues are $3.00 and there are other membership plans available. The funds raised are used to purchase items for the library that are not provided by the County Library system such as the ramp leading to the library entrance. Current focus is on acquiring a meeting room addition to the existing building. Meetings at the library are he3rd Friday of every other month starting in January at 10:00A.M. The Meadview Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) is an organization with the purpose of promoting businesses and sponsoring projects for the betterment of the community. Annual dues are $65.00 for a business membership or $35.00 for an associate membership. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday at 5:00 P.M. at the Chamber of Commerce office in the Meadview Plaza, at 330 E. Meadview Blvd, Suite D. For information call 928-564-2425.
The ladies join this organization under a Husband, Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, Grandfather, Grandmother, Grandson or Granddaughter who served in harm's way during their time in service. This is a volunteer and program based organization which supports programs such as Cancer Aid & Research, Veterans and Family Support, Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pens for Students in school, Americanism, Legislative for Veterans rights, Hospital both VA and Public and Youth Activities. They also support local Community based charities and organization.
The men join this organization under a Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, Grandfather, Grand-mother, Grandson or Granddaughter who served in harm's way during their time in the service. The Men's Auxiliary is a Volunteer organization and support all Veterans Organizations and local community related charities or businesses.
COMMUNITY OF MEADVIEW (COM)
MEETS AT 10:00 A.M. ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH AT THE MCA SEPT-MAY. PRESENTS MONTHLY PROGRAMS OF GENERAL INTEREST TO THE COMMUNITY AND PUBLISHES THE COMMUNITY NEWS. PLEASE VISIT THE COM WEBSITE -www.comaz.info. NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED. 928-564-2534.
Meadview Ridgeriders is a local ATV club that meets the 1st Saturday each month to share information about rides and more. The club participates in community events such as the annual Fun Run Day, Boat the Lake Festival parade, Median Lighting Ceremony, Santa Quad Run and assisting the Friends of the Joshua Tree Forest with clean-up activities. RED WHITE & BLUE QUILTERS OF MEADVIEW
Red, White, and Blue Quilters of Meadview is an organization of service-minded, patriotic women. They primarily make quilts for service members, veterans, children of deployed service members and for babies of service members. Membership is open to anyone who would like to help. They meet the 3rd and 4th Thursday of each month at 9:00 A.M. in the old Fellowship Building behind the Meadview Baptist Church.
They do love to receive patriotic fabric and materials for all of these projects.
This is a membership organization made up of men and women who served in the Military and went into harm's way while serving. They are a volunteer organization that support Veterans and other organizations in our community. The community is fortunate the VFW Post allows many groups to utilize their facility as a meeting hall and as a special events location. Groups that use the VFW post as a meeting location are: VFW Men's Auxiliary, VFW Women's Auxiliary, The American Legion, The American Ladies Auxiliary for a total of five fund raising groups, all these groups have functions to raise money within the community to support the local Veteran's and their families.
